Perry had to scoot out early to attend a hearing at the county courthouse that was about a situation in Statham. As a Councilman, these things were important to him.

Another Day – Another Adventure – Weeks 13 & 14

The new hosts for Camper Cabins arrived early in the day. They quickly got their beautiful, new 5th wheel all set up & comfortable & then set out to “discover” all the wonderful things the park had to offer. This was Ed & Judy’s first time as Camp Hosts although they had traveled far & wide in previous RVs. Ed was from Georgia originally & Judy was from California. They had lived in their current home in mid-Florida for many years. This 2 month camp hosting tour would be a wonderful adventure for them.

There was not much going on at the park during the HOT weekdays so we had breakfast & did our normal chores. Then went home for the day. Beth had soap to make & Perry had a lunch appointment with one of his old friends.

Although we are usually off duty on Monday & Tuesday, that was not the case during a Holiday week. July 4th is a BIG camping weekend & people were in abundance in the park. Not an open site to be had. Even with all the extra people, the bathhouse was no problem to keep clean.

It was a quiet day in camp. Just the normal stuff, nothing monumental. Beth did make some more signage & install it here & there, trying to make the park rules easier to see & adhere to for all campers.

Another Day – Another Adventure – Weeks 5 & 6

Since we were off at an event for three days over the weekend, the bathhouse suffered in cleanliness. So, we deep cleaned all the rooms & sprayed Peppermint essential oil to clean up the stench left from the malfunctioning urinal in the men’s room. Dustin, the maintenance guy, came right away to replace the waterless urinal filter that had malfunctioned over the weekend. YUCK! He also fixed the auto-closer on the men’s room door that stopped working while we were gone. Sometimes you wonder if cleaning so completely is warranted. But a comment from a woman exiting the ladies room proved it so. She said it was the cleanest public bathroom she had visited in quite awhile. Awesome!

We haven’t written the blog in a while but we have taken notes each day. We’ll try to tell the story of our adventure from those notes, & our memory, for our granddaughter Lily. We want her to know what kind of people her Pops & Honey were when we are gone from this earthly life one day. This is a journal for Lily …

Another Day … Another Adventure – Weeks 1 & 2

Perry & Beth took a drive through Ft Yargo Campground with the intent of visiting the new hosts at Campground #1. Jimmy & Fran visited us when we were hosts there back in February & we wanted to do the same since they just arrived on May 1st. We didn’t see them in our first pass by so we drove through the rest of the park. Low & behold, Campground #2 Host Site was vacant. The new host was to arrive on May 1st also but apparently didn’t arrive! We returned to Campground #1 to get the skinny on the situation. This time, Jimmy & Fran were outside. Apparently, the other scheduled hosts had a sudden serious illness & couldn’t fill the spot. Oh my! This could potentially put a lot of work on the other hosts. Hummmm
